What we collect
Three things, and only when they are needed:
- The contact form. When you message us we receive the name, email address and message you send, so that we can reply. That is the only thing we do with it. We do not add you to a mailing list or pass it on.
- Analytics. If you allow it, we use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and roughly how people move through the site. It records things like the pages you view, your device type and an approximate location, in aggregate. It is not used to identify you, and it does not run at all unless you accept analytics cookies.
- Server and security logs. Like every website, our host and our CDN (Cloudflare) briefly log standard technical data such as IP address and browser type, to serve pages and keep the site secure. These are short-lived and not used to build a profile of you.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. Essential cookies remember your cookie choice and let the site function. Optional analytics cookies only load if you accept them in the banner. You are in control: change your mind at any time with , or block cookies in your browser. Nothing on the site depends on advertising or tracking cookies, because we do not run ads.
Third parties
A few trusted services make the site work, each under its own privacy policy: Google Analytics for the anonymous statistics above, Cloudflare for content delivery and security, and, when you choose to follow a booking link, Viator and Booking.com, who set their own cookies once you are on their sites. We do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own marketing.
What we do not do
There are no user accounts to sign up for, no newsletters harvesting addresses, no advertising networks and no selling of data. We are not trying to build a picture of who you are; we just want to know which guides are useful so we can write better ones.
How long we keep things
Contact messages are kept only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, then deleted. Analytics data is retained under Google’s standard settings and holds no personal identifiers from us. Technical logs are rotated and cleared on a short cycle.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can object to analytics simply by declining the cookies. To exercise any of this, email us at hello@uaefrontier.com and we will sort it out.
Children
This site is a general travel guide and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes and contact
If our practices change we will update this page. Questions about any of it? Write to hello@uaefrontier.com, or see how we work in our editorial guidelines.
